| Conrad Murray to be charged with involuntary manslaughter |
[January 08, 2010 @ 11:05am] |

LOS ANGELES -- A source in the Michael Jackson death investigation says prosecutors will seek an involuntary manslaughter indictment of Michael Jackson's doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray.
A law enforcement source says Dr. Conrad Murray will be prosecuted on a theory of gross negligence, according to the Associated Press. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation remains open.
Th source told the AP that the Los Angeles Police Department will follow the formality of presenting the case to the district attorney before an indictment can be sought.
Murray, Jackson's personal physician who provided him with the anesthetic propofol that coroner's officials say killed the pop singer, has remained the main focus in the investigation.
Murray has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and insists he gave then-appropriate medical aid when he found Jackson distressed and not breathing on June 25. His attorney has stressed that Murray is fully cooperating with authorities.
The Los Angeles County coroner's office determined that Jackson died from "acute propofol intoxication" combined with sedatives and labeled his death a homicide.
Along with his Houston clinic and a rented storage unit, authorities have also conducted searches at Murray's home and office in Las Vegas, at properties in Los Angeles, and at a Las Vegas pharmacy where police say Murray bought five100-milliliter bottles of propofol.

| Highest Earning Supermodels of 2009 |
[January 08, 2010 @ 7:01pm] |
Gisele Bundchen

Top of the list is Gisele Bundchen, pulling in an incredible $35 million last year, bringing her estimated fortune to about $150 million. Standing, sitting and walking about are the skills which bring her the most cash, largely through being the ‘face’ of a host of brands over the years from Ralph Lauren to Victoria’s Secret. However, she also has a line in sandals, which is the most-sold Brazilian flip flop in the world. Gisele has also tried her hand at acting, with a small role as a catty co-worker in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’.

| Smoking Gun releases Adam Lambert FCC complaint letters |
[January 08, 2010 @ 1:59pm] |

After "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert kissed a male bandmate/simulated oral sex with another guy on ABC's "American Music Awards" broadcast, the Federal Communications Commission received more than 5000 complaints about the primetime homoeroticism.
On the following pages you'll find a sampling of the letters sent to the FCC by Americans who were outraged by Lambert's raunchy November 22 performance of his song "For Your Entertainment." The correspondence was released after TSG filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the FCC.
Many correspondents believed that Lambert, 26, ruined an evening they had been sharing with their children (most of whom who love Taylor Swift). A viewer from Rainbow City, Alabama thought that Lambert, who is gay, was "shoving his homosexuality down our throats." An Ohio resident wrote of being glad their 94-year-old grandmother had gone to bed before Lambert's "disgusting" display. However, the viewer noted, the elderly relative did have to endure a Shakira performance during which the gyrating singer was seen "pushing her twat in my face." Another writer wondered whether a kiss shared by two "fudge packers" fell below broadcast standards.
Along with the barrage of complaints, a handful of correspondents wrote to support Lambert or goof on the anger prompted by his performance. Lambert was a "dangerous gay male" who should have been "denied...his rights as a human being," one viewer wrote. "All of the impressionable children that were watching this at 11pm on a school night with their parents permission may be scarred forever because of Mr. Lambert's disregard for family values."

| because there have to be at least a few aging riot grrrls here |
[January 08, 2010 @ 12:56pm] |

Kathleen Hanna has donated a bunch a collection of her zines + assorted writings to the NYU's Fales Library, for their brand new Riot Grrrl Collection? And we just heard from Soul Ponies that Kate Wadkins is gonna be moderating a Riot Grrrl panel during Sarah Lawrence's Women's History Month conference??
Two things are happening here: 1. New York as a whole just got a million times cooler and 2. 2010 is clearly the year of the long awaited Riot Grrrl comeback!!
Super exciting for aging ladies like myself who were just a litttlleee bit too young to enjoy the scene to it's fullest during it's heyday. It's wonderful and perfect that the movement is getting the academic recognition it deserves, and being treated like an legitimate part of feminist history!
So jealous of New York right now! I need to get there ASAP, or you know, around March 5th & 6th for the Women's History Conference. Please donate Buddy Passes to Young Creature: stuck in Chicago, IL.

WONDERFUL NEWS!
Btw, I totally shared the same breathing air as Fassbender last night at the Fish Tank screening in Brooklyn. Was anyone else from ONTD there? Didn't meet him 'cause I had to get to Queens asap, but it looked like I would've had to wade through a sea of yuppie film buffs to talk to him and I didn't have the time. No pics. Fail.

‘We were in our house in the country, and we'd just got back from our honeymoon,' she reveals. ‘It was literally jet-lag sex.'
When asked if the baby was planned, she responded: ‘You do make an active decision that you're not going to use condoms, or whatever.'
‘Then there's that, "I am so in love, I want to have your baby.''
'It's such a hot thing, it's so gorgeous. "We fell in love, I want you to impregnate me" I don't know what's not hot about that,' she continues.

| Rpattz to have onscreen sex with Uma Thurman . |
[January 08, 2010 @ 1:29pm] |

The ladies love to see Robert Pattinson getting steamy with Kristen Stewart in the “Twilight” films, and now he’s set for an on-screen hookup with Uma Thurman.
According to a report, the “New Moon” stud has signed on for the lead in “Bel Ami,” playing an ambitious young journalist named Georges Duroy.
And in the process of sleeping his way to the top, Pattinson’s character ends up in the sack with Thurman’s character Madeleine.
Robert recently admitted that he’s a bit apprehensive with anything outside his mainstay vampire role. “You get offered stuff that you would never dream of getting offered before, but that’s also scary. You don’t have to audition for anything. But I don’t want to do a movie just so it gets made. You have to question yourself a lot more. Before Twilight, I did any movie that I got offered, and you’d try and make the best of it afterward. But now, you’re expected to come into the movie and provide not only economic viability, but also a performance as well.”

| Chris Brown's Photoshoot with MTV |
[January 08, 2010 @ 1:00pm] |
In these new MTV photos, Chris Brown, who recently released his album, Graffiti, to an audience wildly divided over his relative guilt or innocence and his worth as an artist, looks like a different man. Just on the surface, Chris Brown looks more pensive; and that this whole ordeal has changed him. At the very least, the post-teenage boy that so many fell in love with definitely seems to be going through some growing pains. Check out the pictures and read into them what you will. ( +4 )

| Slow News Day? Here's A Bit of Online Pop Culture News |
[January 08, 2010 @ 12:46pm] |

Apparently membership to BeautifulPeople.com should come with an anti-eggnog advisory -- 5,000 of its users have been banned for gaining too much weight over the holidays. The boot came after the site began receiving complaints from some of its users about meeting up with people who had gained weight since the holidays or whose recently uploaded pictures showed visible weight gain. To join the online dating site already existing members have to vote on whether an applicant is attractive enough. Apparently the cumulative effects of pumpkin pie, spinach dip and hot buttered rum were more than some people could handle. In an interview with BBC, site founder Robert Hintze said, "Letting fatties roam the site is a direct threat to our business model and the very concept for which BeautifulPeople.com was founded." Call us crazy, but we wouldn't want to date anyone with this mentality, regardless of whether or not they think we're hot.
The site now only lets members of the opposite sex vote members out because, Hodge noted, lots of women were voting other women out to simply cut down on the competition.
